And another one bites the dust. I’m actually referring to my mug of coffee, but this could also apply to the weekend.
About 10 days ago, I talked about my need to work and have a purpose while waiting to hear back from graduate schools.
Well, it looks my wish came partially true. Between two jobs, I’ll now be working steadily Monday through Thursday. And occasionally on Fridays. I’m also waiting to hear back from a third job.
I also found out that I was accepted into a Master of Science in Human Resources program. Since it’s not my top choice, I won’t be making any decisions just yet. I still have a few more schools to hear back from. Still exciting, nonetheless!
So I guess that means that I can go back to complaining about how busy my life is, right? Wrong. There are certainly those who are much busier than I am. So I promise to keep the “I’m so busy” complaints to a minimum. And well, I actually thrive on being busy (see above post) – so there’s really nothing to complain about anyway.
So with that, let’s talk about my busy weekend.
Friday
On Friday night, we had a sudden (and unexpected blizzard). Being practically snowed in ruined my grand plans of dinner, wine, and girl talk.
So since Adam spent the night at his grandparents house and Sam was watching sports, it was just me, the cats, and a big bowl of barbeque tofu (with some greens of course).
The cuties.
The best barbeque sauce.
The tofu (pre-baking).
The super crispy (nearly burnt – just the way I like it) end result. You know I dumped some hummus all over that post-photo.
I’m a girl who loves my alone time, so despite plans being ruined – it ended up being a pretty fantastic Friday night.
Saturday
THIS happened.
That is what I like to call Ikea domination.
See the ceramic plates? $29.99 for an 18-piece set. Pretty amazing, if you ask me. I like my dishes inexpensive because I tend to chip every single dish I own.
Yep, I’m like a bull in a china shop. So I’ll just enjoy the nice smooth dishes while they last.
Sunday
On Sunday, I put my sister to work and we redecorated my upstairs family room – Ikea style.
Life is good, indeed.
And then, I found out that life is now even better!
There is finally a frozen yogurt shop in my hometown! This could be trouble.
[cookies n’ cream + cake batter swirl with cap’n crunch, sprinkles, mochi, and yogurt chips]
Fun fact? The shop was opened by Courtney Crozier from the Biggest Loser season 11. I watch that show religiously, so it was pretty cool to see her and her Mom [who was also on the show] in the shop last night!
Yep, I’ll definitely be a frequent visitor there.
So that brings us up to speed.
As for today, this is all I’ve got for ya.
Stripes, boots, and skinnies. Comfy cute.
Make it a great week guys!
