Well today was a long day! My sister, Mom, Dad and I went on a road trip of sorts! I woke up early had the necessary coffee (Starbucks Natural Vanilla Infusion a la’ the Keurig) and got ready!
Clearly, I need to learn some picture-taking skills, but you get the idea. That's my outfit for the day. These pants are from Express and they are so comfortable!
We fueled up and headed to Whole Foods, which is almost an hour away. Yes I am not as blessed as those who have Whole Foods right around the corner! But then again, I would be broke (or more broke than I already am), so maybe that is a good thing? Anyway, I had the hot food bar, Zevia ginger root beer, and scored some Carrot Cake + Coconut Cream pie larabars! Yess! I have read about these on other blogs but have not been able to find them. I gve a carrot cake one to my Mom and she said it was really good. I have yet to try it though! I also found some new flavors of Raw Revolution bars that I’m excited to try.
Next stop: outlet mall, where I picked up some great stuff. We’ll call it “school shopping” since the Fall semester just started. Sound good? ;) Anyways my goal was to get a few classy leopard print items (success…times 4! Oops!). Apparently, animal print is all the rage for the fall and I jumped in with both feet! I got 2 shirts and a great scarf. I also got some great black booties to go with my straight leg khaki pants. And a great khaki jacket from H & M. I may or may not be obsessing over khaki pieces for fall. I also scored some great (and inexpensive) jewelry from Forever 21. I am loving the cute owl trend!
*Insert un-pictured iced coffee with sugar free vanilla syrup*
Finally, we hit up California Pizza Kitchen for some dinner. After a long day of walking, we were all starving! We started out with white bean hummus plus honey wheat bread and white corn guacamole with blue corn tortilla chips. Mind you this was only for 4 of us, so I had my fair share and decided I was too full to order pizza. So I ordered the grilled vegetable salad, add goat cheese. This was so delish that I didn’t even need dressing! And now I will be forever torn on what to order at CPK--salad or pizza? Orrr, I could solve everything and go with both! Sounds good to me. :)
It doesn't look like much, but I assure you this was everything a girl could ask for. But then again, give me avocado and goat cheese and I'm a happy girl.
The "official description" of this beauty:
Grilled Vegetable Salad
Grill asparagus, Japanese eggplant, zucchini, green onions, and roasted corn served warm over a bed of chilled Romaine lettuce, fresh avocado and sun-dried tomatoes in our homemad Dijion balsamic vinaigrette.
Since I insisted we get FroYo (I’m addicted and crave it daily!)—we drove around and finally found a place! It was called Love’s Yogurt and it had a small selection but still hit the spot. I had a medium non-fat/sugar free vanilla and peanut butter topped with sprinkles. Yes, I am 12 years old as my Dad so kindly pointed out.
And now I am cuddled up in bed and ready to pass out!
I’ll post some pictures of the mall loot tomorrow!
