It is quite scary how quickly 2012 is flying by. I feel as if I was just ringing in the new year and here we are nearly 6 months in!
Just a month ago, I listed 5 things to avoid in April. However, this month I want to focus on what I’d like to add to my life over the next month.
1. Books
I have stacks of books covering my nightstand and my desk. They range from books on psychology, health, and fitness to fiction books about murder and mystery. Despite my book collection (and my library card), I rarely finish an entire book.
I recently bought Fifty Shades of Grey (the controversies were simply too good to resist) and I will finish it by the end of May. Who knows, maybe I’ll get sucked in and finish it by the end of the week.
2. Dinners
Things have been crazy busy this past month and family dinners have really suffered. In May, I plan to have at least two (hopefully more) sit-down family dinners per week. They don’t have to be complicated or fancy—the only rule is that they must be enjoyed together.
I will be looking to my Pinterest dinner ideas board for inspiration.
This goat cheese and kalamata panini is on my radar.
As is this tortilla and black bean pie.
Yum.
3. Walks
I miss taking leisurely walks with my Mom. Not only have I been working full-time for the past few months, but my Mom recently took on a full-time position as well. Between our schedules, our usual walk times have been thrown off.
We use these walks to chat and catch up and I need them back in my life. I will be making them a priority in the upcoming weeks. It’s really not a matter of what I have time for, but rather what I deem to be a priority.
4. Zumba
I took a Zumba class on Monday and boy have I missed it! Since I have been doing 5AM boot camps, I haven’t been attending my usual nighttime classes. But for Zumba, I’ll make an effort. It really is an amazing way to get a workout in.
5. FROZEN YOGURT
Oh yes. This may have been out the door in April, but it’s back in full force for May. I may or may not eat a shameful amount of froyo this month. Don’t judge me, join me.
And of course, I can’t forget that I will be getting DIRTY in May. The Dirty Girl Mud Run is in 10 days! I am SO excited!
