This morning, I had every intention of doing a “Thoughts on Thursday” post. They’re fun and random. However, today is actually Wednesday. And it took me far too long to realize that. Is it Friday yet?
So rather than a Thursday thoughts post, I’ll roll with a “Words on Wednesday” one instead. Same concept, different day.
1.) I have a love/hate relationship with burpees. Okay, who doesn’t? But after doing about 100 burpee push-ups this morning, this couldn’t be more true. I love how I feel after my burpee sets are said and done, but during the actual process my head is filled with cuss words. Yes, I’m classy like that.
2.) Today is Adam’s last day of third grade. He will now be a big bad FOURTH grader. Two more years and it’s off to middle school. Then before I know it, he’ll be graduating high school. Okay, I’m getting a bit ahead of myself—but seriously, it goes by way too fast. I think I’ll make him a special breakfast this morning to send him off. Pancakes, it is!
3.) For the month of June (yes, I am a little late to the party), I am joining Oh She Glows salad a day challenge. I will also be challenging myself to have a green smoothie a day. I’ll be taking pictures and posting on instagram (@newhealthystef) to stay accountable.
Let me say this—my salads aren’t always conventional. They usually consist of warmed or roasted veggies as a base and then toppings to please my taste buds. So I’m calling it a “salad” a day, but I really mean a bowl of veggies a day. Want to join? Hashtag it up (on instagram and twitter) – #saladaday and #smoothieaday.
{my first #smoothieaday – frozen bananas, spinach, kale, unsweetened almond milk, scoop of Vega vanilla almondilla}
4.) I just downloaded Chalene Johnson’s book Push onto my Kindle (AKA my iPad with the Kindle app).
It has been a while since I’ve read a motivational/fitness book and so far, I love it. Chalene is one of my favorite fitness gurus and I can’t wait to see what great information the book has to offer!
5.) Want to know the best way to make a frothy iced coffee? In a recycled glass bottle!
I took the label off of a Snapple bottle and washed in the dishwasher. Now I simply add some chilled coffee, so delicious coconut creamer, and plenty of ice (or espresso cubes) and shake, shake, shake until it’s nice and frothy!
The perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
Any words for Wednesday?
